Mary Muliett named president/CEO of Battle Creek Community Foundation

The Battle Creek Community Foundation has named Mary Muliett as its new president/CEO, the organization announced in a Facebook post Tuesday evening.

"With more than 20 years of nonprofit and social work leadership experience, Mary brings extensive expertise in team development, strategic planning, forming collaborative partnerships and creating progressive culture," the post stated.

Muliett will assume the new role in May. She will be the organization's fifth president/CEO and takes over for Brenda Hunt, who decided to step down after 30 years with the community foundation.

“Lifting voices, supporting community impact, and continuing to create positive lasting change is a focus and vision I see for the Battle Creek Community Foundation,” Muliett said in the post.

Founded in 1974, the Battle Creek Community Foundation distributes grants to a variety of nonprofit programs, organizations and other community-oriented charitable efforts that benefit Battle Creek residents. Funds are also created to provide scholarships to local students.

Additionally, the foundation provides community leadership, bringing diverse groups of individuals and organizations together to develop community-wide solutions for problems and issues.
